English 10 Honors Course Description
The 10th grade Honors English curriculum will explore the overarching theme of CULTURE & IDENTITY while continuing to focus on close reading of texts, analytical writing, speaking and listening, and language skills. We will focus on units that include various non-fiction and informational texts as well as short stories, poetry, and whole class texts such as Everything I Never Told You, The Color of Water, Lord of Flies, Macbeth, Night, A Room of One's Own, and Things Fall Apart.Tuesdays with Morrie.

You will need an individual section and folder for English which will include and keep track of the following:
1. Class notes- Aim, Mind Spark and Mini-Lesson 2. Class Handouts-Handouts that are handed out in class. Example: Costa's levels of questions handout, #CUBA handout, etc. 3. Essays, quizzes+ projects- Once these assignments are returned to you, place them in your binder section and be proud! You'll be able to track your progress throughout the year! |
